Some more recycled jewellery

Next weekend I am going to a friend's wedding reception, and having already got the outfit I am going to wear (including some stunning shoes) I endeavoured to make this set of necklace, bracelet and clip-on earrings to match my shoes and to wear to the occasion!

The whole set was made using bits that I already had and beads from the bead set below that I chopped up from a £1 sale bargain and combined with the white beads!

In other news I started my new job this week so have been busy as heck with that! I think I'm going to love it but as it's shift work it's just fidning the time to fit in everything else that I want to do with my life!

Green Party bits are going fabulous.....Norwich North by-election next week and the press are backing Rupert Read to a lovely extent so very happy about that! Am also just waiting on our local councillor to get back to me about taking over the membership secretarial role so that will hopefully keep my mind busy....and of course don't forget Green Peace Fair on September 6th....all go for me atm then :)

Mr Mojoe Has Returned!!!

After what feels like an eternity, Mr Mojoe has decided to make a return from his summer holiday...and about flipping time too!! Made the following today.....

Mojoe disappearance...

With the lovely weather we have had recently, Mr Mojoe has obviously decided that now is the perfect time for him to take his summer holiday. I'm not sure whether this is because I am getting low on stash and therefore am worried about using it, therefore not making anything at all....I have no idea!

No cards

Nothing

I've sorted, shuffled, stacked, re-sorted, re-shuffled and re-stacked my craft stash time and time again but I just can't seem to get it together!

One of those times where I have loads of things that I'd like to make, but none of the enthusiasm to make it!! And I'm behind on my swaps as well! :(

Arghhhhhhhhh

Am off to have a go and see what I can pull together, Mum's asked me to make her a pendant with some sea glass she found the other day so I'm going to give that a go while watching TV....I'll try update you with pictures of new makes as soon as Mr Mojoe returns.

A few recent jewellery makes!

As well as my card making/papercraft I've just got into jewellery making over the past couple of months as well! Below are a few of my favourite personal projects (these are not for sale). I shall be posting a few pieces this afternoon (in a seperate blog) that I intend to sell.

1 ~ Glass crackled beads, clear with a hint of pink, with a resin heart pendant. Made on tigertail with nickle toggle style clasp.

2 ~ Silver based charm braclet with toggle style clasp. Decorated with various buttons, glass beads, resin beads and a couple of tumbled stone beads.

3 ~ Wire wrapped adjustable silver plated ring with resin beads.

4~ Pewter cow handbag charm with purple resin beads.

5 ~ Silver plated kilt pin brooch with glass and resin beads in a green theme.

6 ~ Memory Wire Friendship braclet with puple resin and silver plastic butterfly detail beads. Part of a pair, one with the initial K (for me) and one with the initial N (for a friend).

7 ~ Green crackle glass and resin beads on memory wire, made into earrings for a friend.

As I said, these are all personal projects either for myself of for friends as gifts. If there is anything that catches your eye then I can make similar items to order so please don't hesitate to contact me.

Wow, I hadn't realised I hadn't posted since November! So many things have gone on and I don't feel that I have time to catch up on 6 months worth of news, but I'll do a quick update on what is going on at the moment in my life.

Well I'm still making my cards, I've also got into making ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) and I have more recently got into making jewellery. I've been thinking more recently about trying to make pieces to sell so I might try and sort out a website for those soon!! I shall make another post completely with somre of my more recent makes as this post is more than likely going to get rather long otherwise!!

In the personal side of my life, I am currently not working, although there are a couple of things in the pipeline which I am working on!! On April 28th I got together with a fabulous guy called Ross and I can't get over how happy he makes me. We see each other most weekends and we're really close, it's lovely to be so happy with someone....and the way it has worked we've just kind of clicked and hit it off!! :)

I've also got back into the powerboat racing at Oulton Broad, it gives me another chance to go out on a Thursday night and to go and see Ross :) We went to the Nationals racing on May bank holiday weekend. I'm going to try and have a go this year as I've always wanted to and now it seems the best chance to get out then and try it.

Finally, I've got back into my photography in general. I've re-opened a DeviantART account which you can find the page of here should you wish to do so :)

Some new makes

Seeing as my small camera is suitably dead and my trust old camera only seems good for pictures with little detail I will be uploading pictures of my card makes occaionally when I can be bothered to faff about with my bulky DSLR!

Here are some of my latest makes from this week!

I loved this baby elephant decoupagé so much I used it to make an unsual "New Baby" card!

I used this tall card and a decoupage image to create this vintage feel blank.

This is a special card I have made to the Snow Patrol lads for their kindness last Monday after their show in London and will be sending this off shortly! The snow flake brads are linked to them as it was their old symbol and the stars as that is what is on their new album cover!

This anniversary card is one that I have been asked to make for my Nannie's friend's wedding anniversary!

And finally my first make from the new LMCs kit!

Well although I'm a bit late with this I figured I'd post my favourite pictures from the Snow Patrol gig on Monday 27th in London!

Ooooh and in other news, I got offered job with MenCap on Friday afternoon! It's based in Rackheath which is the other side of Norwich to me, but I have to take it because I need a job and it's the one job I really really wanted to get this week! Will have to look into certain things like possibly renting out in the city or something once I've got through the training and know I'm going to stick it out!

Challenge, Swap and a card Mum made!

This is my entry for the Christmas Tree Decoration challenge over on the CB forums! I used tea back folding with some blue shiney paper and then added "Merry Christmas" ribbon and some cute wooden character heads that I found in my local craft shop!

Above are my 2 tags for the October Tag Swap over on the CB forum, the theme was "Fairies" so I used 2 different style of fairy to create 2 different tags. It's my first go at tags and I'm not overly keen on them but I guess you can only get better with time and hopefully the tags I recieve back my help me learn more!

And finally....My Mum doesn’t do card making at all (she says it’s too fiddly and would drive her nuts, she’s an abstract painter though) but yesturday she sat down with me and I helped her to make this card for my Grandad (her Dad) for his birthday!

Copse got my card for the Card Swap on the CB forum yesturday so I figured I was allowed to post it on my blog now too! The theme for the swap was snow so I made this card with a horse pulling a sleigh through the snow and used a line cut out from some scrap booking paper for the words "Dashing through the snow" which I thought toned in nicely!

Also, I just found out that I got 3rd place in the 2year old girl birthday card challenge held by Counrtneysmum over on the CB forum! Have send Amelia my address and I can't wait to see my prize! It's my first prize from a challenge on the forum and I'm so pleased! Below is the card that I enter which also then got sent on to Courtnet herself for her 2nd birthday on Sunday!

Christmas "Wish Tags"

This is an expansion of something me and my Mum do every year that we thought would be a nice little thing to do for a couple of fayres I am doing in time for Christmas this year!

Basically they’re long narrow tags (that will have ribbon in to hang them up) and you basically write a little wish on it for Christmas and hang them on your tree. The wish can be anything you would like but the hope is that it will be for something for someone else and not yourself.

So this is a small batch that I have made and I’m making plenty more!

Number Challenge Card

The upload function over on the CB forum seems to to have decided it doesn't want to work anymore :(

Here's my entry for the Number Challenge. It is a card I have made for my Grandad who is horse racing crazy. I have used a decoupage image from http://thelilacgarden.co.uk/ and although my printer is running out of ink (which is why the image is stripey) I'm hoping he won't notice too much as he is unfortunately losing his sight!

The number isn't that clear I guess, but I promise it is there. He is 85 on October 17th!

Sorry I've not posted for a while! I have made plenty more cards but my camera decided to run out of battery and I can't find the charger atm to recharge the bloody thing!

Anyway, I'm still about and have still been making plenty of cards! I had my hair cut yesturday and bought some of the most amazing skinny jeans ever (see picture)!

Went into town again today and got a few more decoupage kits and a cute little book with lots of different decoupage fairies in...so I'm well away!

Got a couple of challenges and swaps to take part in as well atm so we'll see how that goes!

I'll post again soon and there will be more pictures as soon as I find that damn battery charger!

Decoupage Introduction!

Went into town yesturday and as we walked past the local pub/hotel noticed they had a craft fair inside that said it included decoupage so of course I was straight in there to have a peek! I've watched so many decoupage demonstrations but not really been brave enough to have a really good stab at it. I found some lovely sheets and as soon as I got home could not wait to try them out so here is my first real attempt at decoupage!

I used a silver card blank and mounted some white corregated card to it to give it some deffinition. I then started with this cute decoupage fairy building up the layers as directed. I then mounted the "With Love" sentiment to the bottom right corner using 3D Foam pads and stuck a small pink heart embellishment to finish off, drawing around this with purple glitter pen just to add that extra sparkle!

Here's another quick example of a couple of my cards!

This card was made using elements from the LMCs Issue 17 kit and some bits from my own stash! White card base and green square of paper from own stock. I mounted the die-cut on the paper that I had pre-stuck onto the card blank using 3d foam pads. I then used some balloon die-cuts and foam stars from the LMCs kit to decorate the bottom half of the card. I stuck small green star embellishments to the foam stars and used a greeting from the kit mounted onto the card with 3d foam pads to give some more texture. The balloon strings I then drew on with green glitter gel pen.

This card was also made using parts from Issue 17 of LMCs as well as some corregated card from my own stash! I used the pink card blank and stuck the flowery strip directly to the card along the side. I stuck the baby rabbit die-cut to a gold corrgated card flower and then stuck this on to the middle of the card. I then added the butterfly, booties and "Congratulations" sentiment to the card using 3D foam pads. Lastly I mounted the "It's A Girl" sentiment to some white card and attached that to the card using 3D foam pads.

Eeeeek!
I thought it was about time I stared a blog as it looks to me like everyone else is doing it and I'm feeling a little left out! I shall try and get some of my cards uploaded onto here to share with everyone but I can't promise how successfull I'm going to be as I'm new to all this blogging malarkay!

Right so here goes! I'll just post one for now and then post more later when I get a spare 5 minutes to write some more!

This card is one that I have made for the Let's Make Cards Issue 17 Challenge over on the Crafts Beautiful forum. The idea is you incorporate at least items from the kit that comes with the magazine into a card or similar.

I used some backing paper and some of the die-cut motifs to create this Baby Boy card as well as the larger motif and some gingham ribbon, all supplied in the kit. The blue card base and some glitter to finish off all came from my own stash.

I also used 3D foam pads to create a raised feel on all of the elements on the from of the card, I used thicked pads for the smaller detail and some thiner pads for the large Baby Boy motif.

Can't think of anything else for now, will write more and show some more pictures of cards as soon as I can!
